Ending a Tenancy

The notice and process for ending a tenancy depend on the tenancy type, agreement and circumstances. Check your agreement and current Tenancy Services guidance before making arrangements.

Before moving out

• Give the correct written notice through the approved channel.
• Confirm the final date, rent position and key-return arrangements.
• Remove your belongings and rubbish.
• Leave the property reasonably clean and tidy.
• Report damage or outstanding maintenance.
• Arrange the final inspection and provide a forwarding address.

Bond

Bond refunds are handled through the required process after the tenancy ends. Any disagreement should be discussed promptly and can be referred through the formal tenancy process where necessary.
